The parties to the SALGBC (SALGA, SAMWU and IMATU) have commissioned a multi-media video as part of the their collective contribution to creating sector awareness about COVID-19 and to convey a message of support and motivation from the parties to the sector.

Municipalities must ensure that the video is available on the municipal digital platforms by sharing the given link.

The Men Imbizo
On the 1st of August 2019 all Abaqulusi Municipality Male Employees were invited to discuss issues that concern and affect them and the community.
In the quest for wellness particularly for AbaQulusi Municipality men, issues involving violence, unemployment, children and women abuse, skills development as well as fighting against drug abuse were discussed and as a result during discussions it was discovered that ‘Men’ are also victims of domestic violence , most of the victims still feel ashamed to speak out about the abuse that they experience in their homes or at their communities.

Giving support to the needy and the vulnerable people in our communities is a priority to our municipality, which is why on Wednesday, April 5, 2017, the Mayor Councillor Martin Mtshali, Speaker Councillor Micheal Khumalo and municipal officials visited the Bhekuluzulu township to donate food parcels to families that were affected by very strong winds of 24 March 2017 which damaged their houses. More than 70 families were affected.
